In addition to development projects, Renew Moline’s work has extended to important planning projects in downtown. These plans have been necessary to create development opportunities and a base for new areas of activity. While Renew’s involvement in city planning goes back to the early 1990s, recent plans have resulted in a Public Art & Placemaking Plan to create a public art program in Moline, along with early engagement with the Urban Land Institute’s Technical Advisory Service for early guidance on riverfront planning.
