Project Overview

For over 125 years, Parr Instrument Company has been a globally recognized manufacturer of precision laboratory equipment, from chemical reactors to calorimeters and pressure vessels, proudly rooted in Moline since 1911. The company’s expansion and renovation project represents its most significant investment in decades, modernizing its facilities and positioning Parr for continued growth well into the future. This included a new 54,000 sq ft manufacturing facility adjacent to the existing plant and renovations to transform existing space into updated administrative and training areas.

Key Milestones & Recent Developments

In 2023, Parr announced an ambitious multi-phase expansion plan to increase manufacturing capacity, modernize operations, and support long-term business growth. Through 2024-2025, Parr systematically built out the new manufacturing addition, upgraded equipment, and expanded operational space to support workforce needs. In December 2025, Parr held an official ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of both the expansion and renovation, alongside the company’s 125th anniversary – a major milestone for the organization and the Moline community.

What the Expansion Means for Moline

The newly expanded facility brings a host of benefits:

  • Modernized production capacity, including advanced machining and assembly space, allowing Parr to meet growing demand for larger and more complex products.
  • Improved efficiency and workflow with updated manufacturing, shipping, and administrative spaces designed for today’s workforce and future hiring.
  • Strengthened economic impact for the East End and Greater Quad Cities community, preserving quality jobs and reinforcing Moline’s legacy as a center for precision manufacturing.

Parr’s commitment to remaining independent and locally rooted; continuing to operate under its own ownership while investing back into its hometown.
