Renew Moline Role: Consultant selection and ongoing advisory assistance
Renew Moline supported the City of Moline in an advisory and administrative capacity throughout the development of the Riverfront + Centre Plan for the I-74 redevelopment area. Renew staff conducted research on planning consultants with riverfront development expertise, co-authored the Request for Qualifications/Proposals, helped promote the opportunity, and managed the consultant interview process. Following the City’s selection of MKSK, Renew continued to serve in a supporting and advisory role, assisting public engagement and outreach events and participating in project staff and team meetings.
Building on this work, the Riverfront + Centre Plan was formally adopted in August 2025. Implementation is being guided by three working groups: the Financial Group, which focuses on securing funding through federal and state grants, private investment, and foundation support; the Technical Group, which addresses engineering, design, and permitting for public improvements—including water, sanitary, and storm systems, roads, utilities, geothermal systems, street lighting, pedestrian ways, open spaces, parkways, boardwalks, an amphitheater, and bikeways; and the Executive Group, which provides overall oversight and coordination of the plan’s rollout. Renew Moline has been invited to serve on the Executive Group.
