Moline Enterprise Live-Work Lofts also opened fully rented in 2012. This 69-unit, Section 42 project, is a $12 million investment by Gorman, Inc. from Madison, Wisconsin, in partnership with Illinois Housing Development Authority and Renew Moline.
This project is a true mixed income property with many amenities for residents including a fitness center, community room, theater, business center and technology lounge. The Live-Work concept means that building tenants have the ability to not only walk to nearby work opportunities in Moline’s downtown, but may also create work environments in their homes by utilizing first floor apartments’ egress to the street.
Conceived as an incubator for home-based businesses the Moline Enterprise Live-Work Lofts is designed as a high tech urban live-work community featuring 69 residences supported with a range of full range of amenities including a conference room, a theater designed to accommodate multimedia presentations, a fully equipped business center, a cyber café and a penthouse community room complete with an outdoor deck.
The building is 4 stories in height and has a mix of 29 one bedroom, 26 two bedroom and 14 three bedroom apartments ranging in size from 680 to 1,350 square feet. The 13 ground level units will each have an individual entrance opening from the street into an office/showroom space separated from its private living space. Handicapped units will also be available. There will be 7 one bedroom, 7 two bedroom, and 1 three bedroom handicapped units.
An additional 3,000 square feet of ground floor retail space will be made available on the highly visible southeast corner of the building.
