|---|---|---|---|---|
PROJECT HISTORY More than $40 million in public and private dollars have been invested to redevelop the Bass Street Landing at the base of 17th Street along the riverfront. The development is being conducted in three phases with the first two phases of the project completed. PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION Phase I of the construction included RiverStation, a mixed-use riverfront development featuring retail, restaurant, office and housing space, along with the new decorate public plaza, known as The Plaza at Bass Street Landing. RiverStation houses Bass Street Chop House, a prime steakhouse featuring the finest cuts of prime and choice dry aged cuts of meat and jet-fresh seafood, and Baker’s Street, a premium cigars, tobacco, coffee, and gift shop. Outdoor events and concerts are held on the Plaza, at night greeting be the stringing lights above. Also complete is the connector trail linking the Great River bike path along the Mississippi River. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Phase II construction included Stoney Creek Inn and its adjacent Conference Center. Other Phase II improvements include completion of the access road that serves the City's water plant, improvements to 2nd Avenue intersection, sidewalk along 2nd Avenue, and completion of 17th and 18th Streets. Phase III of the project original was slated for the construction of unique townhouses and condominium to be located just north of the plaza, facing the Mississippi River. As these plans never were finalized, developer Rodney Blackwell with Financial Something, Inc. stepped in and has proposed a twenty-story high-rise for the area known as KONE Centre. "The plaza design encourages people to rediscover the riverfront and it is an ideal setting for events and music." Sandy Doran, landscape architect with Shive-Hattery in Moline PROJECT IMPACT A more than $40 million dollar investment in the downtown. NEWS ARTICLES |
